Chief Network Officer (CNO)

CNO is a key leadership role for our ATSC 3.0-based Direct-to-Mobile (D2M) Next Generation Broadcast Platform. This is a full time position that may be located in Bengaluru or Delhi.

Chief Network Officer (CNO) is a high-level executive responsible for shaping and executing FreeStream’s network strategy, ensuring its reliability, and optimizing its performance. The CNO will lead teams, manage projects, and collaborate with various stakeholders to deliver network solutions and meet business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• D2M Network Strategy & Planning: Defining and implementing the long-term network strategy, including network architecture, technology roadmap, and capacity planning.
• D2M Network Performance & Optimization: Monitoring network performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
• Project Management: Overseeing and managing complex network projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and to the required quality standards.
• D2M Vendor Management: Evaluating, selecting, and managing relationships with network vendors and partners – chipsets, mobile devices, infrastructure.
• Team Leadership & Development: Leading and motivating a team of network engineers, providing guidance and mentorship, and fostering a high-performing work environment.
• Collaboration & Communication: Collaborating with government, industry and operators.
• Technical Expertise: Possessing in-depth knowledge of ATSC 3.0 broadcast and 3GPP mobile telecom network technologies, including wired and wireless networks, devices, data centers, and cloud computing.
• Industry Awareness: Staying abreast of emerging trends in the broadcast and telecom industry, including ATSC 3.0, 3GPP, 5G, IoT, and cloud-based network solutions.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in engineering (e.g., Electrical, Computer Science), or related field
• Extensive experience in broadcast and telecom network engineering, design, and management – at least 20 years of experience
• Expert level knowledge of ATSC 3.0
• Experience in managing broadcast network deployment, especially cellularized broadcast operational or trial networks
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Experience with relevant licensing and governmental compliance regulations
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and best practices, notably ATSC 3.0
• Ability to work permanently in India
• Maximum age: 55 years

Terms

The selected candidate will enter into a Consultancy Services Contract with FreeStream or another entity.
